Ileana Howard, MD
Dr. Howard is the medical co-director of the ALS Center of Excellence at the VA Puget Sound and an associate professor of rehabilitation medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She also volunteers on the board of the Evergreen chapter of the ALS Association, is a previous ANF Board member, and current Finance Committee member. Dr. Howard has completed three half-marathons and three marathons, including, most recently, the Marine Corps Marathon, where she ran in support of the Fisher House foundation which provides lodging to families of hospitalized Veterans.

Every day, I strive to walk alongside my patients in their personal health journeys to maximize their quality of life and function. My goal, this November, is to run on behalf of those who can't, and to support research that can help identify better treatments for my patients. While running 26.2 miles isn’t easy, I am inspired by the caregivers and patients who tackle much harder obstacles each day.
