Carolina Garcia-Santibanez & Eleanor Thomas

Drs. Garcia-Santibanez and Thomas are neurologists at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Both are passionate about raising awareness for neuromuscular disorders and are combining their efforts to train and fundraise together for the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon as part of the ANF Charity Team!

Dr. Garcia-Santibanez has completed multiple half marathons and is excited to take on her first full marathon this year. She is running in honor of her patients and to make meaningful use of the physical ability that many take for granted—something her patients with neuromuscular disorders often do not have. Dr. Thomas recently completed the 2024 Invesco Thanksgiving Half Marathon and the 2025 Publix Half Marathon with the Atlanta Track Club. She is running in recognition of her friends and patients affected by neuromuscular diseases.

I'm running to raise awareness, support research, and stand in solidarity with those affected by neuromuscular disorders. Every step I take is for those who face physical challenges that most of us can't begin to imagine."

Carolina Garcia-Santibanez

I can think of no greater or more positive setting for my first marathon then the NYC Marathon with its amazing course, spectators, and positive energy. The 2025 NYC Marathon offers an amazing opportunity to raise awareness for our patients with devastating neuromuscular diseases and generate money for research to enable cures.
