Annual Meeting Awards
Each year, the AANEM Annual Meeting honors excellence and innovation in neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine through a selection of distinguished awards. These include a prestigious lectureship award and multiple honors recognizing outstanding research presented through abstract submissions. Together, these awards showcase the remarkable work shaping the future of the field and offer recipients meaningful opportunities for visibility, recognition, and professional growth.

Surinderjit Singh Young Lectureship
Awarded to a physician in the early stages of their professional journey, this plenary speaker is selected by the AANEM President to present at the AANEM Annual Meeting.

Golseth Young Investigator Award
Given to the best research paper submitted by a young physician to the AANEM Annual Meeting.

Best Abstract Award
Given to the best research paper submitted to the AANEM Annual Meeting.

President's Research Initiative Award
Given to up to 10 individuals who submit the best abstracts on the topic chosen by the AANEM President each year.

Residency and Fellowship Member Award
Given to AANEM Residency and Fellowship members who are first authors on abstracts presented at the Annual Meeting.

Pediatric Research Award
The AANEM Pediatric Research Award encourages research in pediatric neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine.

Technologist Best Abstract Award
Given to the best research paper submitted by a technologist who has conducted and shared research to advance the science of neuromuscular and musculoskeletal diseases.

Medical Student Research Award
Given to medical students who are the first author and designated presenter on abstracts presented at the AANEM Annual Meeting.
Abstract submission opens January 1 and the deadline to submit is March 15. Learn more on the AANEM website.
Scholarships
The ANF offers scholarships to help medical students and residents deepen their interest in neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine. We also provide international scholarships for physicians from economically developing countries, fostering global collaboration and the exchange of ideas across the neuromuscular community. These scholarships make it easier to attend the AANEM Annual Meeting and UltraEMG, connect with mentors, and gain firsthand exposure to the latest research, technology, and clinical advances shaping the field.
